Ensuring a consistent and reliable drinking water supply of prescribed quality for every rural household is a fundamental aim of our mission. We strive to enhance the living standards of rural communities by achieving the following overarching goals:
- Facilitating the provision of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) to each rural household.
- Prioritizing the implementation of FHTCs in areas affected by water quality issues, villages prone to drought and desert conditions, Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) villages, and other vulnerable regions.
- Establishing functional tap connections in essential institutions such as schools, Anganwadi centers, Gram Panchayat buildings, health centers, wellness centers, and community buildings.
- Vigilantly monitoring the functionality of tap connections to ensure their sustained effectiveness.
- Encouraging and promoting voluntary ownership within local communities through contributions in cash, kind, and/or labor, including voluntary community labor (shramdaan).
- Providing assistance to ensure the long-term sustainability of water supply systems, encompassing water sources, supply infrastructure, and securing funds for regular operation and maintenance.
- Empowering and developing human resources in the sector, addressing the needs of construction, plumbing, electrical work, water quality management, water treatment, catchment protection, and ongoing operation and maintenance.
- Creating awareness on various aspects and the significance of safe drinking water, fostering stakeholder involvement to make water a collective responsibility.
